Grace Nakimera has opened up about why she never pursued romantic relationships with fellow entertainers during the peak of her music career, saying she deliberately stayed away from musicians because of their reputation.
Speaking during an interview on NRG Radio, Nakimera revealed that she never even developed crushes on celebrities, particularly musicians, because she believed they were surrounded by too much drama.
She admitted she preferred calm, respectful men over the excitement associated with fame.
Musicians are dangerous. Musicians always have many women and I don’t want those things because I want real love and I don’t go for hype. I like gentlemen.
Nakimera eventually found love with a Norwegian man, with whom she shares her firstborn child.
Looking back, she jokingly suggested that perhaps Ugandan men simply did not notice her, while foreign men seemed to appreciate her more.
I wasn’t gangster. I was so cool, humble and a sweet girl but our people weren’t seeing me. I was a little proud, but I always met white men for some reason.
