Kenzo Celebrates Ghetto Kids After FIFA World Cup Final Performance

Eddy Kenzo has celebrated the Ghetto Kids after the Ugandan dance group performed during the FIFA World Cup final celebrations alongside global stars Shakira and Burna Boy.

The Grammy-nominated singer took to X to applaud the dancers, describing their appearance on one of the world’s biggest sporting stages as a proud moment for Uganda.

Kenzo said the performance showed that Ugandan talent continues to earn recognition on the global stage.

There are moments that are evident enough to us that the world is watching Uganda.

He said the Ghetto Kids’ journey proves that dreams born on the streets of Kampala can reach audiences around the world, adding that their success goes beyond dance and entertainment.

This is bigger than dance. It is bigger than entertainment. It is yet another proof that a dream born in the streets of Kampala can inspire billions across the globe.

Kenzo also encouraged young Ugandans to believe in their abilities, saying talent, discipline, resilience and faith can create opportunities regardless of where someone comes from.

He ended his message by congratulating the Ghetto Kids for flying Uganda’s flag high and expressed confidence that the country’s creative industry will continue to make its mark internationally.

The future of Uganda’s creative industry is global, and this generation is leading the way.
