Chadwick Boseman’s Brothers Want Widow Removed From His Estate

Chadwick Boseman‘s family is back in court.

The late actor’s brothers, Kevin and Derrick Boseman, have asked a Los Angeles court to remove his widow, Taylor Simone Ledward Boseman, as administrator of his estate.

In court filings, they claim she has not completed the distribution of Chadwick’s assets despite a 2022 settlement that split the estate equally between Taylor and the actor’s parents.

The brothers also say they have not received a full accounting of the estate. They claim information about bank accounts, royalties, movie residuals, insurance policies, investments and other assets remains outstanding.

They further allege Taylor has not transferred a long-term care insurance policy to Chadwick’s mother or fully accounted for posthumous SAG-AFTRA residual payments.

Kevin and Derrick argue the delays have prevented Chadwick’s parents from receiving money and benefits they are entitled to under the settlement.

They are now asking the court to appoint a new administrator, require Taylor to provide a full accounting of the estate and ensure the remaining assets are distributed.

The allegations remain unproven, and the court has not ruled on the petition. Taylor Simone Ledward Boseman had not publicly responded to the filing at the time of publication.

Chadwick Boseman died on August 28, 2020, at the age of 43 after privately battling colon cancer for four years.

The Black Panther star died without leaving a will, leading to probate proceedings over his estate.
