Lydia Jazmine has revealed that the music industry has been immensely affected by politics, and it is slowly affecting the artists’ bookings.
In an interview, she highlighted how her bookings have reduced greatly compared to years before, and she attributes it to the first 3 months of the year that were marred by the elections.

She agrees that the rate at which artists are releasing new music is low, and that consumer reception is similar.
“According to the statistics, I think it’s true (music is scarce). The rate at which music is being released is low, and the rate at which the released songs are gaining airplay is also low. The reception is low, but it’s okay because we started the year with heavy politics, for almost three months,” Lydia Jazmine said.
She added, “Politics affects music whether you want it or not. It affects the industry because we are not booked. Economically, the country has dipped, even other businesses – not just music.”
