Outspoken and controversial events promoter Nobert Events (Nobert Twizire) has declared that he will retire from elective politics if he fails to win the LC1 chairperson seat in the upcoming elections.
Nobert made the bold announcement while reflecting on his previous unsuccessful attempts at elective office, saying he has contested several times without securing victory.
He recalled his 2021 bid for the LC3 chairperson seat in Nsambya Central, where he lost to NUP’s Wasswa Araft.
In 2026, he made another attempt but says he was unfairly denied the NRM flag during the party’s LC3 primary elections, preventing him from contesting in the general election.
Now eyeing the LC1 chairperson position, Nobert says this will be his final attempt at elective politics.
He insists that if he loses this time, he will accept the outcome and permanently step away from seeking political office.
I’ve failed multiple times whenever I participated in elective politics. This time around, if I fail to secure the LC1 position, I’m going to quit elective politics.
I contested for the LC3 seat in 2021 and I lost. Then in 2026, I was cheated in the NRM LC3 flag bearer primaries. This time, I won’t be in a position to claim that I was cheated again.
He added that he has been closely monitoring every stage of the electoral process and is fully prepared for the LC1 elections scheduled for 28th July, expressing confidence that the outcome will reflect the will of the voters.
