Billy Kasodde has dismissed claims that he abandoned the National Unity Platform (NUP) after attending the recent Kyankwanzi event, where President Yoweri Museveni was the chief guest.
The appearance raised eyebrows, especially after the musician revealed he received UGX 2 million to attend.
To Kasodde, however, accepting the money had nothing to do with changing political sides.
During an interview on Sanyuka TV‘s Uncut, he drew a clear line between a paid appearance and political allegiance.
Receiving UGX 2 million for attending the Kyankwanzi event does not mean I have left NUP.
Kasodde maintains that attending an event for a fee should not invite assumptions about where his political loyalties lie.
