The Mayanja name has produced some of Uganda’s biggest music stars, and Malcolm Mayanja wants to make sure he earns his place among them.
The 23-year-old, who is the eldest son of Goodlyfe singer Weasel Manizo, says he never planned to become a musician.
Speaking during an interview with Galaxy TV, Malcolm revealed that he studied photography before music completely changed the direction of his life.

I studied photography and had planned to pursue it as a career, but music won me over. I developed a very strong passion for it.
As he works towards establishing himself, Malcolm says he has drawn encouragement from two of the family’s biggest names.
He thanked his uncles, singers Pallaso and Jose Chameleone, for standing by him as he pursues music.
The people who have helped me in this music industry include Pallaso. I also thank Chameleone.
The support has done little to shrink his ambitions.
Malcolm believes he can achieve something even greater than his father managed during his music career.

In five years, I see myself becoming something big, even bigger than my dad.
He already knows who he wants to work with once those opportunities begin to come his way.
The musicians I would love to work with include Fik Fameica, Lydia Jazmine and Spice Diana. It would be dope to do songs with them.
