Kampala Woman MP Hon. Shamim Malende has dismissed long-standing rumors linking her romantically to stand-up comedian Reign, one half of the popular comedy duo Maulana & Reign, insisting there was never any love affair between them.
Addressing the speculation, Malende said the public can now accept the truth, emphasizing that there has never been a romantic relationship between her and the comedian.
She explained that she has never hidden important aspects of her personal life, noting that whenever she is in a serious relationship, she does not keep it a secret.
I believe the nation has now witnessed the facts and the truth has come out. When I’m doing something, I do it in broad daylight. If there is somebody in my life, the public gets to know about it. I have no reason to hide my relationships
Malende also reflected on her previous relationship, revealing that it is firmly in the past and beyond reconciliation.
She made it clear that she has no interest in revisiting that chapter, adding that if she ever finds love again, the public will know at the appropriate time.
“I don’t want to speak about that past relationship. That chapter is totally closed. If another chapter with a new ‘Taata Kampala’ opens, the public will see it when the time is right.”
