Chozen Blood has opened up about one of the darkest periods of his life, revealing that he struggled with mental health challenges at a time when his song Sharp Shooter was one of the biggest hits in the country.
Speaking on NRG Ignition, the singer recalled that 2021 was an emotionally difficult year. He lost his mother, became a father for the first time, and despite the massive success of Sharp Shooter, he was not getting performance bookings.

The combination of personal loss and career frustrations took a toll on his mental well-being.
That kind of drew my mind closer to the reality line and you know whenever reality surfaces, the young version of us is demolishing and that phase is scary.
He credited fellow singer Winnie Nwagi for standing by him during that difficult period. “I’m grateful I had a good friend in the dark corner, Winnie Nwagi.”
The singer said his experience changed how he views mental health, emphasizing that healing begins with accepting reality instead of denying it. According to him, denial only prolongs the pain, while acceptance allows the mind to focus on finding solutions.
The problem comes in denial, but if you accept that something has happened, the brain gets into solution mode, and that’s what my friend helped me with. She drove me close to acceptance.
