Nassanga’ success hurt many — AgaNaga dismisses concert flop claims says he made about shs100m – Sqoop

Kalifah AgaNaga is pushing back against criticism surrounding his recent concert, saying public perception of the event does not reflect what happened financially.

While some social media users described the show as poorly attended, the singer insists the numbers tell a different story, claiming the concert generated more than Shs100 million through table bookings and ticket sales.

According to AgaNaga, critics rushed to declare the event a flop after circulating photos taken before his performance, long before the venue had filled up.

To support his argument, he shared details of the concert’s pricing structure, revealing that VIP tables were sold at Shs1 million, Shs3 million and Shs5 million.

He said selling 10 tables at Shs3 million, five tables at Shs1 million and four tables at Shs5 million earned Shs55 million from table reservations alone.

“My tables were at Shs3 million, Shs5 million and Shs1 million. If I sell 10 tables at Shs3 million and five tables at Shs1 million and four tables at Shs5 million, how much is that? Then the ordinary tickets of Shs10,000, Shs20,000 and Shs30,000, and I got about 2,000 people. That brings the money up,” he said.

Beyond defending the figures, AgaNaga believes the criticism has little to do with the concert itself.

He claims the renewed popularity of his hit song Nassanga has unsettled some people within the music industry, prompting what he described as a campaign to downplay his achievements.

The singer also suggested that some event promoters were unhappy because he chose to organise the concert himself instead of partnering with them.

For AgaNaga, the concert was more than just a performance—it was proof that musicians with a hit song can successfully promote their own shows and keep a larger share of the proceeds.

He argued that artists should not always depend on promoters, saying self-promoted concerts can become a viable business model for musicians who have built a strong fan base and are willing to take the risk.
