A routine TikTok livestream turned tragic after Mexican influencer César Gastélum was shot dead outside a fast-food restaurant in Culiacán.
The comedian had gone live with two friends when two men arrived on a motorcycle. Witnesses said one of the suspects approached Gastélum and opened fire before escaping.
Police initially mistook the victim for a delivery rider because he and his companions wore yellow jackets and carried delivery bags. Officers later confirmed that the victim was Gastélum.
As investigators continue searching for the gunmen, police are analysing evidence collected at the scene and reviewing surveillance footage.
Officials have not announced a motive for the attack or said whether Gastélum had reported receiving threats.
The killing follows other deadly attacks involving Mexican content creators, including beauty influencer Valeria Márquez and influencer Leobardo “El Gordo Peruci” Aispuro.
