Ugandan opposition leader and music icon Bobi Wine marked a major milestone on August 8, 2026, writing a touching open letter to his eldest son, Solomon Kampala Sekayi Kyagulanyi Galyenkanawa, as he celebrated his 21st birthday.
Reflecting on fatherhood and faith, Bobi Wine recalled holding Solomon as a young, anxious father who prayed for divine guidance rather than worldly riches.
“I had already tasted fame, but I understood that neither fame nor success could give a man what only God can give—wisdom,” Bobi Wine shared on X. “That name was my prayer for you from the very beginning.”
In his deeply spiritual message, the Ghetto President urged his son to walk humbly, love mercy, and embrace courage, invoking the biblical wisdom of Micah 6:8. He offered timeless life advice: respect everyone, fear only God, and stand boldly for truth.
“May God give you wisdom greater than wealth, character greater than fame, and courage greater than fear,” he wrote, concluding his emotional tribute with his signature rally cry, “EMBOGO TEBAJILUNDA!!”
Solomon’s mother, Barbie Kyagulanyi, echoed the sentiment, calling her son their ultimate blessing, while Solomon gratefully replied, vowing to make his parents proud.
The milestone sparked an outpouring of warm wishes across Uganda, with fans and supporters praising the Kyagulanyi family for instilling purpose, humility, and faith in the next generation as Solomon steps into full adulthood.

Dear Son, 21 years ago today, I held you in my arms for the first time. I was still a young man myself and I remember feeling both anxious and deeply blessed. I did not have all the answers, but I knew one thing for sure; I wanted your life to be different from mine. I wanted you to be spared the life struggles I had gone through. Like King Solomon in the Bible, I turned to God and asked for wisdom. That is why I named you Solomon. That name was my prayer for you from the very beginning, it still is! I had already tasted fame and some level of success, but I understood that neither of them could give a man what only God can give-wisdom. I have always prayed that God grants you wisdom, discernment, courage, humility and a heart that knows what is right, even when the world tells you otherwise. Today, I look at the man you have grown into and my heart is filled with gratitude. I am proud of you and I pray that you continue Walk humbly with your God, love mercy, and do justly (Micah 6:8). As you step into the next chapter of your life, I dedicate you once again to God. May He guide your steps, protect you from the things you cannot see, give you strength when life becomes difficult, and give you the wisdom to navigate this unpredictable journey called life. May the blessings of your ancestors walk with you and make your life a blessing to many. May your purpose be bigger than yourself. Always carry yourself with confidence and be proud of who you are.
