Glamour and style at Balix prom – Sqoop

Unique: Spicing the celebration was the inclusion of a select group of Old Boys and Old Girls, particularly recent years, who were invited to share in the memorable occasion alongside the candidates.

For one evening, St Balikuddembe Secondary School Kisoga (Balix) traded classrooms for royalty as students stepped into a world inspired by the elegance and grandeur of the popular Bridgerton series. The school’s highly anticipated joint prom for Senior Four and Senior Six candidates transformed into a glamorous celebration of fashion, friendship and achievement, quickly becoming one of the most talked-about school proms so far.

Held in early May, the event unfolded as a carefully curated experience rather than just a farewell party. The day began with a morning Mass, offering students a moment of reflection before the celebrations commenced. This was followed by a cocktail session that allowed guests to mingle and capture memories ahead of the evening’s main festivities. However, it was the red-carpet experience that truly set the tone.

For more than an hour, from 6pm to 7pm, students made grand arrivals in a display of confidence, style and creativity. Inspired by the evening’s Night in Bridgerton theme, attendees embraced royal aesthetics, elegant gowns and sharply tailored suits, creating a scene that blended classic sophistication with contemporary teenage fashion. Black and gold emerged as the dominant colours of the day, with many students opting for bold yet refined looks that reflected the grandeur of the occasion. The result was a dazzling fashion showcase that drew admiration both at the venue and across social media platforms.

Adding a unique touch to the celebration was the inclusion of a select group of Old Boys and Old Girls, particularly recent years, who were invited to share in the memorable occasion alongside the candidates. Following the red-carpet showcase, guests proceeded to the dinner session, where elegance and celebration seamlessly merged. The evening later shifted into high gear as the dance floor came alive with energetic performances, spirited dance entrances and nonstop entertainment.

The night’s memorable moments were captured by Bryan Photography, whose coverage documented the spectacular fashion, cocktail session and red-carpet arrivals that defined the event getting the prom trend everywhere online. As photos and videos from the celebration circulated online, it became clear that Balix’s prom ranked way up there among the top this year. It was a celebration of achievement, personal expression and youthful elegance—a fitting send-off for students preparing to take their next steps beyond secondary school.
