The Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) has corrected the result of the celebrity boxing match between comedian Shawa and content creator Chicken Chicken, declaring Shawa the winner by Referee Stop Contest (RSC).
The bout took place on Thursday, August 6, at Supremacy Lounge in Nankulabye, where the ring announcer initially declared the fight a draw.
In a statement dated August 7, UBF General Secretary Barigo Simon said the federation had corrected the result to reflect the official decision.
The correct decision of the fight is that Shawa won the fight by Referee Stop Contest (RSC) not a draw as announced by the Ring Announcer.
UBF also announced disciplinary proceedings against the promoter and officials involved in the event over the handling of the result.
To protect the image and reputation of the Sport of Boxing, the promoter, and officials at the event will be subjected to immediate disciplinary proceedings by Uganda Boxing Federation.
The federation apologised for the incident and promised to prevent similar mistakes in future.
