Kanye West is reportedly pushing back against a major career move involving his daughter, North West.
The 13-year-old has reportedly signed with Roc Nation for management, with her mother, Kim Kardashian, supporting the move.
Founded by JAY-Z, Roc Nation operates across music, management, sports, and entertainment.
Kanye, however, is said to have concerns about the people who would surround North as she builds her career.
North has already started making serious moves in music.
She released her debut EP, N0rth4evr, in May and has continued developing her sound.
Kim has also encouraged North’s creative ambitions, giving her daughter room to explore music and other artistic interests.
Kanye’s reported objection appears to focus on the team around North rather than her decision to pursue music.
That puts the former couple on opposite sides of an important decision as their daughter takes her first major steps into the entertainment industry.
For now, Roc Nation, Kim and Kanye have not publicly confirmed the reported management deal or the disagreement surrounding it.
