Years after P-Square’s breakup, Akon has offered insight into the tension between Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr. P, and Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy, before their relationship fell apart.
Speaking recently about his experience with the Nigerian twins, the Senegalese-American singer said he sensed that something was wrong even when P-Square was still together.
I knew something was wrong with them.
Peter and Paul became one of Africa’s biggest music duos before their relationship deteriorated.
They split in 2016 and reunited five years later, but another disagreement eventually brought their partnership to an end.
Their latest fallout has involved more than the two brothers, with Peter publicly discussing his grievances with Paul and their elder brother, Jude Okoye.
Disputes over the P-Square catalogue and finances have also spilled into the courts.
Akon, who worked with the twins during P-Square’s peak, featured on their hit song “Chop My Money,” making his comments particularly notable as the brothers remain estranged.
