The art fraternity is mourning veteran Ugandan playwright, actor and author Alex Mukulu, whose death has sent shockwaves through the creative industry.
Tributes have started pouring in from fellow actors, writers, producers and other creatives, many remembering Mukulu as a gifted storyteller whose work helped shape Uganda’s theatre landscape over several decades.
For many in the industry, Mukulu was more than just a performer and playwright. He was a mentor, a teacher and a creative force whose contribution will continue to live through the generations of artists inspired by his work.
As the industry comes to terms with his passing, Alex Mukulu leaves behind a rich legacy and a body of work that cemented his place among the pioneers of Ugandan theatre.
