For years, Zari Hassan has been one of Africa’s most recognisable women. She has been a socialite, reality television star, mother, entrepreneur, fashion figure, influencer and brand ambassador. But behind the glamour, the photographs and the millions of social media followers is a woman increasingly preoccupied with a bigger question: What happens after fame?
Zari has lived several lives in one lifetime, and she knows it.
“I am a mother first, an entrepreneur, a public personality, a brand builder and a woman who has learned to turn both opportunity and adversity into something meaningful,” she says.
Born and raised in Uganda before building much of her adult life and business interests in South Africa, Zari has learned to navigate different worlds. She has built businesses, raised children in the public eye, starred in reality television and turned her personal name into a commercial asset. But these days, she is less interested in being famous than in making her fame useful.
