Nobat believes Pallaso and Alien Skin once had the star power to stage a concert on the scale of King Saha’s “Tondeka E Kololo Festival.”
The events promoter, born Norbert Twizire, says both artists reached a point in their careers when their popularity and fan bases could have filled the Kololo Independence Grounds.
That momentum later gave way to a series of controversies that attracted widespread attention.
The rivalry between the two musicians produced confrontations involving violence and property damage, while Alien Skin later faced backlash over his remarks about the Busoga Kingdom and the Kyabazinga.
Those developments, according to Nobat, affected the public appeal that had made both artists capable of commanding a major concert.
Look at an artiste like Pallaso. There was a point when he was very good, but then he resorted to chaos and destroying property. It is the same thing with Alien Skin. There was a time when he could pull it off, but then he got derailed by abusing people, ridiculing the Kyabazinga, and getting involved in other controversies.
With King Saha now having shown what he can command at Kololo, Nobat says the list of artists he sees as capable of producing a similar concert has become very short.
However, he believes there is a female artiste who could pull it off and is keeping her name under wraps to avoid alerting other promoters who might rush to organise her concert before he does.
