Socialite Shanitah Namuyibwa, known as Bad Black, has opened up about her visits to traditional healing shrines, confessing she has practiced witchcraft on several occasions.
Bad Black made the revelation during an interview when she was asked whether she had ever bewitched someone.
Responding without hesitation, she said she has visited traditional shrines several times and even knows how to use a traditional tobacco pipe known as Emindi.
“Yes, very much. You’re talking about practicing witchcraft? I even know how to puff a tobacco pipe (Emindi). I have entered a traditional shrine, and it’s not once or twice, but I do it often. Even our clan’s traditional ghosts sit on my head.”
Bad Black explained that she mainly turns to traditional practices when seeking solutions for personal and family-related challenges, particularly when she wants things to go smoothly and ensure the wellbeing of her children and household.
“Most of the time, I’m a deal breaker, and since I’m soft-hearted, I always want my stuff to go through smoothly, make my children happy and make sure me and my family household are happy. So those are the issues that mostly make me visit the shrine.”
She further claimed that she can resort to witchcraft when someone oppresses or wrongs her.
“However, when you oppress me, I can deal with you, and witchcraft works.”
When asked whether she chooses God or witchcraft, Bad Black said her spiritual beliefs have evolved over time.
She revealed that she studied the Quran and became Born Again while serving a prison sentence, but said her spiritual path has since changed depending on where she finds success.
“It also works, but depending on the season. I studied the Quran and got Born Again during my term in prison, but it depends on where I get success. The more I have grown, I’m becoming a pagan.”
Bad Black also disclosed that she stopped attending church in December 2024, explaining that she now prefers seeking guidance from her ancestors before turning to biblical teachings.
“I have a whole generation behind me. I don’t believe in cursing generational demons through prayers. I seek the guidance of my forefathers before I talk about Jacob in the Bible.”
Despite her changing spiritual practices, Bad Black maintained that she remains a believer, although she admitted that her beliefs and practices can sometimes depend on her mood and circumstances.
“I’m a believer, but it depends on my moods. I’m a believer, but sometimes one needs to seek their consultancy.”
