Renowned media personality Robin Kisti has thrown her weight behind Nansana Municipality MP Zambaali Bulaasio Mukasa’s call for the Ministry of Education to immediately abolish holiday schooling.
Kisti applauded the legislator for raising the matter on the floor of Parliament, saying parents and children have suffered enough from the practice.

Hon. Zambaali of Nansana Municipality, if I had flowers, I would give you some for the point you raised on the floor of Parliament, requesting the Ministry of Education to impose an immediate directive to abolish holiday schooling.
Kisti revealed that she has never been a fan of holiday classes, recalling that she also disliked attending them during her school days.
She argued that children need time away from the classroom to relax and recharge, especially since some students already struggle with the pressure of school.
I swear, me too, I am fed up with those things. Even when I used to go to school in my childhood, I hated it. The only thing I loved about it was that it was the only chance to show off our casual neat outfits.
According to Kisti, forcing children back into classrooms during holidays deprives them of the opportunity to rest and may leave them overwhelmed with information, encouraging cramming rather than meaningful learning.
She also shared a personal experience involving her son, who is currently in Primary Seven, saying holiday classes have made it difficult for her to spend time with him.
My son is only in P.7 and he lives with his father, and the fact that it is during holidays when I get to see him, now I can’t get to see my child simply because Romel has to be in holiday class.
Kisti insisted that she would rather spend quality time with her son than have him subjected to endless holiday lessons, arguing that failing to excel in Primary Seven would not determine his success in life.
Give me my child. I don’t care if he fails P.7. He won’t fail in life because of failing to excel in P.7. I beg, give me mine.
She concluded by thanking Zambaali for championing the cause and urged parents to support the push to end holiday schooling.
