John Leguizamo says one of the best financial decisions of his career came from playing a goofy animated sloth.
The American actor revealed that his role as Sid the Sloth in the Ice Age franchise helped pay for his children’s college education and allowed him to buy his second and third homes.
Leguizamo first voiced Sid in the original Ice Age in 2002, but the role became far more than just another acting job as the franchise grew into a major Hollywood success.
More importantly, the steady income gave him the freedom to keep doing theatre and other creative projects without depending on them to pay the bills.
Leguizamo has said the Ice Age money allowed him to continue doing the work he loved while Sid handled some of life’s biggest expenses.
Not bad for a talkative sloth.
