Chicken Chicken popped the question, Menisha got her big moment, but one familiar face was missing from the celebration: Shawa.
Now, the comedian has explained why he skipped the much-talked-about proposal.
It was not because he opposed the proposal or held a grudge against Chicken Chicken. Shawa says he simply never received an invitation.
I was not invited, and as a person, I do not attend occasions unless I am invited. That is why you did not see me there. I could not just show up at Chicken Chicken’s proposal when I had not been invited.
That missing invitation adds another twist to the story, considering the two recently settled a bitter public feud in the boxing ring.
Their fallout first played out on social media before it turned physical.
On August 6, Shawa and Chicken Chicken stepped into the ring at Supremacy Lounge, where their fight ended in a draw on the night. Organizers later named Shawa the winner.
Despite that history, Shawa says he has forgiven Chicken Chicken and holds no grudge over the proposal invitation.
I forgave Chicken Chicken. If he felt I was not the right person to have at the occasion, that is okay too.
Chicken Chicken also earned congratulations from his former boxing rival after publicly introducing the woman he plans to marry.
I am happy for what he has done. At least now, people can stop thinking bad things about him. There has been so much speculation about him, but he has shown us his wife, and that is a good thing.
Chicken Chicken proposed to his baby mama, Menisha, on August 25, and she said yes.
Shawa missed the proposal, but he says the beef is behind him.
