Dolly Parton‘s music has exploded across streaming platforms following the death of the country music legend at 80.
Luminate data shows her global audio and video streams surged 1,549%, rising from 2.5 million on August 24 to 41.8 million on August 25, the day she died. Her worldwide on-demand audio streams climbed even further to 79.7 million on August 26.
“Jolene” became her biggest streaming driver in the U.S., with about 4 million streams on August 26. “9 to 5” followed with 3.6 million, while “Islands in the Stream” and “I Will Always Love You” reached 2.9 million and 2.8 million respectively.
The surge pushed Parton to become the world’s most-streamed artist.
Parton died on August 25 following a brief battle with cancer.
Her family privately laid her to rest three days later at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Nashville, beside her husband, Carl Thomas Dean, who died in 2025.
Her great-niece, Lainey Mae Parton, confirmed the burial after the service.
