Cardi B has claimed another major milestone over Nicki Minaj after “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion became her fourth RIAA Diamond-certified song.
The certification means the 2020 hit has reached 10 million certified units in the United States.
Cardi now has four Diamond records, while Nicki Minaj has three.
Cardi’s other Diamond hits are “Bodak Yellow,” “I Like It” and Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You,” while Nicki’s collection includes “Super Bass,” “Starships” and “Bang Bang.”
But the milestone is bigger than the Cardi-Nicki comparison.
“WAP” also becomes the first song by two female rappers to receive Diamond certification, giving Megan Thee Stallion her first Diamond record.
Six years after its release, the controversial hit has given Cardi another major place in rap history.
