Dolly Parton’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star has been vandalised less than two weeks after the country music icon died at the age of 80.
Scratches appeared across the star on Hollywood Boulevard, including damage to Parton’s name, as fans continued visiting the landmark to leave flowers, cards, candles and other tributes.
Ana Martinez, a producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, confirmed that the damage appeared to be vandalism.
The incident came at an unfortunate time because officials had already planned to repair the star after cracks developed over the years.
The Hollywood Historic Trust has now moved ahead with replacing the damaged landmark.
New Star Coming for Dolly
Crews have begun work on a replacement, which officials expect to have ready by September 4, 2026.
Parton received her Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 1984 alongside Sylvester Stallone after they appeared together in the film “Rhinestone.”
Her death on August 25 following a brief battle with cancer has triggered an outpouring of tributes from fans and fellow entertainers.
Now, even as Hollywood repairs her star, fans continue to gather around the landmark to honour her legacy.
