Kid Fox Says His Bobi Wine Remarks Were a Comeback Strategy

Kid Fox has finally explained the Bobi Wine remarks that sparked a social media storm in Uganda, admitting that he deliberately pretended not to know the famous Ugandan musician-turned-opposition politician as part of a plan to attract attention to his comeback.

The veteran dancehall and reggae musician recently returned to Uganda after spending about 15 years in Japan and has since made headlines with a series of controversial remarks about the local music scene.

One of his biggest moments came when he appeared to suggest that he did not know Bobi Wine.

Now, Kid Fox says the whole thing was intentional.

Speaking during a recent sit-down with Sanyuka Uncut, he revealed that he actually knows Bobi Wine well and even played football with him during their early days.

I know Bobi Wine. We even used to play football together in our early days. I was just trying to attract attention from you people, and indeed I did.

Kid Fox said creating the buzz was exactly what he wanted as he works to reintroduce himself to Ugandan music fans after years away.

He also cleared up his remarks about Alien Skin, revealing that he followed his musician’s music while living in Japan.

I know Alien Skin. He was top while I was in Japan. I used to like his music.

But Kid Fox had another revelation when he addressed claims about his life in Japan.

He confirmed that he spent time in prison during his stay there, saying the experience kept him disconnected from the Ugandan music scene for years.

I was locked inside prison while in Japan, and that is why I do not know most musicians. It is okay for people to take it that way.

With the controversy now explained, Kid Fox is back in Uganda and using the attention around his name as he prepares to rebuild his music career.
