Uganda Muslim Supreme Council schedules national prayer for rain

Due to prolonged dry conditions, the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council has scheduled a National Prayer for rain.

The Circular issued and signed by Sheikh Ssali Imran Abdunoor from the UMSC Department of Religious Affairs reveals that the prayers, known as Salatul-Istisqa, have been scheduled for Friday, September 4, 2026.

They will simultaneously take place at 1:40 p.m. in mosques across the country.

Local religious leaders have been tasked with mobilizing the community to seek divine mercy and beneficial rainfall.

Muslims are encouraged to sincerely turn to Almighty Allah through Istighfar, repentance, Dua, charity and good deeds, seeking His mercy and beneficial rainfall for our country.
