Elijah Kitaka has named “Dawa” as the biggest record in his catalogue, pointing to the song’s impact on his journey as an artist.
The Swangz Avenue artist has several notable songs to his name, including “Ekyange,” “Daily Bundle,” “Good Idea” with Dax Vibez, and the “Go” remix with Karole Kasita.
But when asked to identify the record that stands out most for him, Kitaka picked “Dawa.”
Speaking on Galaxy TV, he explained why the song holds that position for him, describing it as the record that broke through and introduced him to more people.
I think ‘Dawa’ is a big song, even though there is ‘Daily Bundle,’ but ‘Dawa’ is a big song because it was my breakthrough. I would respect that. ‘Dawa’ broke all the barriers for people to know Kitaka. Yes, people already knew Kitaka, but ‘Dawa’ was the biggest song.
Kitaka also revealed that Ugandan producer and singer Daddy Andre wrote “Dawa,” adding another interesting detail to the story behind the record.
