Death in Dubai is an investigative documentary film and podcast series by BBC Eye. It explores the tragic death of Monic Karungi (known online as Mona Kizz), a 23-year-old Ugandan influencer who fell from a high-rise building in Dubai. When her death goes viral, she becomes the face of the disturbing online trend #DubaiPortaPotty.
Karungi moved to Dubai from Uganda expecting a standard job, but ended up trapped, forced into sex work, and indebted to an alleged trafficker, Charles Mwesigwa aka The Untouchable, also a Ugandan, who formerly worked as a bus driver in London, UK.
