Dax Vibez clarifies his absence from Vinka’s concert – Sqoop

Singer Dax Vibez has dismissed speculation that he deliberately stayed away from Vinka’s recent concert, saying his absence was caused by an unexpected emergency rather than the controversy surrounding the event.

Questions about his absence emerged after Dax, who had been at the venue earlier for sound check, did not return when the concert got underway. Vinka was subsequently left to perform their collaboration without him.

His absence came at a time when the concert had attracted criticism from a section of social media users, some of whom had urged others to stay away because they disagreed with Vinka’s political views. This fuelled speculation that Dax could have chosen not to attend because of the backlash.

Dax, however, says there was no such decision.

In a recent interview, he explained that he had every intention of supporting Vinka but was forced to change his plans after an emergency arose that required his immediate attention.

“No one stopped me from attending the show; they didn’t stop me from collaborating with Vinka in the beginning. Why now? I just couldn’t make it on that day because I got emergencies that needed my attention,” he said.

Dax also revealed that he communicated with Vinka after realising he would not be able to make it back to the venue. He said their exchange helped clear up any possible misunderstanding, with the singer understanding his situation.

According to Dax, the two artistes remain on good terms, despite the speculation that followed his absence.

“We talked on WhatsApp and wished her the best and she took it. There were a lot of things going on in the media and her team called me in the morning. We spoke and harmonized and there was love,” he said.

He further pointed out that his support for Vinka’s concert was not in question, noting that he had been among those who encouraged her to organise the show in the first place.

Dax’s explanation puts to rest suggestions that his absence was connected to the political debate surrounding Vinka or the boycott calls that circulated online.

For him, missing the concert was simply a result of circumstances that were beyond his control, rather than a deliberate decision to distance himself from Vinka.
