A threatening TikTok video in which a group of men allegedly boast about breaking people’s jaws and teeth has led police to eight suspects in Kampala.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SP Racheal Kawala said the suspects were arrested on September 8, 2026, during an intelligence-led raid at Gojo Gym in Namungona, Lubya Parish, Rubaga Division.
Kawala said police launched investigations after the video showing about six men went viral on social media. According to her, the men allegedly boast about attacking members of the public and claim to have left some victims with broken jaws and teeth.
“They allegedly went further to demand money from dentists treating their victims,” Kawala said
She adds that the suspects allegedly threatened medical practitioners who refused to give them a share of the money. Kawala said police traced the suspects to Gojo Gym, where eight people were arrested.
“Four of those arrested are allegedly seen in the viral video,” she said.
The suspects are Matiti Mohammed, alias Beast-Commander; Nurudin Kasule, alias 2 I/C; Umar Mubiru; Lukooya Adams; Kiyimba Martin; Alinda Yosam Junior; Walumu James; and Elvis Simanya.
Kawala said detectives suspect that the gym was being used as a meeting point by the group, with members allegedly operating under the cover of boxing training.
But police are now digging deeper. Kawala said preliminary investigations have linked the suspects to allegations of robbery, housebreaking, theft, phone snatching, use of deadly weapons and possession of suspected narcotics.
She said the last four suspects were arrested at the gym, where some were allegedly found with substances suspected to be narcotics.
The eight suspects are being held as police prepare to take them to court. Kawala said detectives have widened the operation and are now hunting for other people allegedly appearing in the viral video.
Police are also trying to identify people who may have fallen victim to the alleged attacks.
Kawala appealed to members of the public with information about the suspected gang or possible victims to come forward and assist investigators.
The police operation comes amid growing concern over violent content being circulated on social media and its possible links to real criminal activity.
