Not for the first time, singer Rahmah Pinky has maintained that the tattoos on her body carry a deeper meaning and should never be scraped off when she dies.
In Islam, permanent tattoos are considered haram during life because they permanently alter the body. A few Ugandans also believe that the flesh covered by tattoos is cut off when a Muslim dies.
Pinky, however, has asked that the 12 tattoos on her body are not scraped off when she passes on because she has a strong attachment to them.
She noted that if it is something she has to explain to her creator in the afterlife, she is ready to do so.
If you pass on in Islam, they remove all your tattoos; please don’t dare remove mine. Leave them on; I will explain to God when I face Him. My tattoos are so intentional.
