Rahmah Pinky has been noticeably quieter in Uganda’s music scene in recent years, with fewer releases keeping her name in the spotlight.
However, the singer says her reduced presence does not mean she has walked away from music.
Speaking to Sanyuka Uncut, Pinky explained that she still has plenty of music ready but prefers to release it according to her own timing.
How can I say it? I am moving at my own pace. I will still release music. It is not that I no longer do music because I have a lot of it in stock, but I release at my own pace.
Pinky also revealed that she is currently working without management, marking a different phase from the period when Jeff Kiwa’s Team No Sleep (TNS) managed her career.
She joined Team No Sleep in late 2021 and became one of the label’s prominent young artists during her breakout period in 2022, when songs such as “Picha” helped raise her profile.
Her time at the label, however, did not last long. Pinky left Team No Sleep toward the end of 2022, about a year after joining, and later addressed her departure publicly.
When asked what led to her exit from Jeff Kiwa’s management, she kept her answer brief, describing the reason as “indifferences.”
