The men behind a viral video in which they allegedly boasted about attacking people and supplying dentists with patients have been arrested in Kampala.
The video, which circulated widely on social media in recent days, showed about six men allegedly praising themselves for carrying out attacks on members of the public. They allegedly claimed that their attacks leave victims with broken jaws and teeth, then demanded that dentists share money earned from treating those injuries.
They also allegedly threatened to attack medical practitioners who refused to comply.
Kawala Racheal, spokesperson for the Kampala Metropolitan Police, said police at Old Kampala tracked down suspects linked to the video and arrested eight people.
Police at Old Kampala have apprehended suspects allegedly behind a viral video circulating on social media in which a group of about six individuals are seen praising themselves for carrying out attacks on members of the public.
The arrests came on September 8, 2026, when police conducted an intelligence-led operation at Gojo Gym in Namungona, Lubya Parish, Rubaga Division, Kampala District.
Four of the eight suspects allegedly appear in the viral video.
The operation also gave police a reason to look beyond the footage, with investigators now examining allegations of wider criminal activity linked to the group.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects allegedly use the gym, under the guise of training in boxing, as a meeting point and are suspected of involvement in violent criminal activities, including robberies, housebreaking, theft, phone snatching, use of deadly weapons and unlawful possession of narcotic substances.
Police identified the suspects as Matiti Mohammed, also known as Beast-commander; Nurudin Kasule, also known as 2 I/C; Umar Mubiru; Lukooya Adams; Kiyimba Martin; Alinda Yosam Junior; Walumu James; and Elvis Simanya.
Police said officers found the last four suspects at the gym, with some allegedly in possession of suspected narcotic substances.
The investigation is still unfolding, with police working to identify the other individuals allegedly seen in the viral video and establish whether they played any role in the reported criminal activities.

Police are also asking members of the public to provide information that could help identify other suspects or people who may have fallen victim to the reported attacks.
The eight suspects remain in police custody pending court proceedings.
