Jim Geoghan, the television writer and producer who co-created “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody,” has died at the age of 79.
Geoghan died on September 6 in Los Angeles, his daughter Genevieve Geoghan confirmed. His family has not disclosed a cause of death.
News of his death has prompted heartfelt tributes from people who worked with him, with “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” stars remembering the man behind one of Disney Channel’s most beloved shows.
Cole Sprouse paid tribute to Geoghan, describing him as a “wonderful person and wonderful leader on set.”
He also remembered Geoghan as a positive presence who approached his work with optimism and humor.

Kim Rhodes, who played Carey Martin on “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody,” also shared an emotional tribute.

Geoghan co-created “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” with Danny Kallis in 2005. The Disney Channel sitcom starred Cole and Dylan Sprouse alongside Ashley Tisdale, Brenda Song, Phil Lewis and Rhodes.
The series ran for three seasons and later spawned “The Suite Life on Deck,” keeping Geoghan’s connection to the franchise alive for years.
His career also included work on “Family Matters,” “The Facts of Life,” “Three’s Company,” “Silver Spoons” and “It’s Garry Shandling’s Show.”
But for the stars who knew him, Geoghan’s legacy goes beyond his television credits.
Their tributes paint a picture of a writer, producer and mentor whose kindness left a lasting impression on the people around him.
Geoghan is survived by his wife of 45 years, Annie, and their daughter, Genevieve.
