Ugandan comedian Patrick Salvado has pushed back at Nigerian singer-songwriter Fave after she called out a promoter over her recent experience in Uganda.
Fave sparked the exchange after claiming that the promoter treated her badly during her visit to Uganda, where she performed at Thrones Lounge in Bugolobi, Kampala, on September 2, 2026, for the third-anniversary celebration of Wahala.
She claimed the promoter paid her far less than she was worth while also treating her like “sh**,” saying such people make it hard for people to have nice things to say about Uganda.
Those remarks did not sit well with Salvado, who challenged her decision to generalize about Uganda, arguing that one bad experience should not define an entire country or its entertainment industry.
Do not generalize, a few bad apples do not describe the whole orchard.
He then pointed to his own experience with Fave’s booking team.
Salvado said he needed Fave for his show last year and had already agreed on terms with her team before they replaced his booking with another deal.
I needed you for my show last year but your booking team made life hard. After agreeing on terms, you got a better deal that you substituted me for that ended up not working.. so your team came back to me after I had moved on.
Despite that experience, he never used it to make a sweeping statement about Nigerian artists or Nigeria.
But I never came out to say it is people like you/your team who make it hard for people to say nice things about Nigeria. Tikwe?
Salvado has made his position clear. Fave, meanwhile, has yet to reveal the promoter’s identity or respond to his comments.
