Before Sqoop Larma began chasing his dreams in music, he had already faced challenges that could have easily shaped a very different life.
The rising musician has opened up about growing up without his father, whom he lost when he was only two years old. With no parent to care for him, Larma’s early life took an unexpected turn when well-wishers stepped in and took him to an orphanage.
It was there that he spent his formative years, receiving an education, shelter and the basic necessities of life. Looking back, Larma says he remains deeply thankful to the people who came into his life at a time when he needed support the most.
“I grew up in an orphanage. I lost my father when I was just two years old. Good people picked me up and took me to an orphanage. I was raised there. Education and everything, I am really grateful,” he recalled during an interview with Galaxy TV Rewind team.
For Larma, the experience was more than a difficult chapter of childhood. It helped shape his outlook on life, teaching him gratitude, perseverance and the importance of the people who lend a hand when circumstances become difficult.
Now pursuing a career in music, Larma is carrying with him a story that stretches far beyond the stage. His journey from losing his father as a toddler, to growing up in an orphanage and eventually finding his path in entertainment, has become part of the drive behind his ambition.
For an artist still finding his footing in the music industry, Larma’s story is a reminder that humble beginnings do not necessarily determine where the journey ends
