Winnie Nwagi asks fans for understanding during off-camera days

Winnie Nwagi has asked fans to understand that celebrities also have days when they are not in the mood for cameras, photos or interactions.

Speaking on Let’s Talk About It, Nwagi explained that being a public figure does not mean she is always ready to engage with fans or pose for pictures.

She said there are days when she may not even feel like taking a photo of herself, making it difficult when fans approach her expecting a picture for social media.

You come wanting a photograph yet I haven’t taken one myself either, but because you want to go and post it and get likes, you’ve left me unhappy and I don’t even know if it looked good.

Her comments were supported by fellow singer Sheebah Karungi, who cautioned fans and bloggers against recording artists without considering how the content could affect them.

Sheebah noted that artists spend years building their public image, but that does not mean they are perfect or always camera-ready.

All you care about is your likes and you love the attention. You find a musician who has worked hard for their brand for 10+ years and then you record them anyhow.

She added that artists have their own flaws and bad days, and careless recordings can sometimes portray them in a way that does not reflect the image they have worked hard to build.

Just because we have built our brands, it doesn’t mean we are angels. We have our flaws, so when you come and record me anyway you want for the likes, you’re messing up with the brand that I have been building all my life.
