Did A Pass and Alicia reveal more than their wedding? Fans think so – Sqoop

No sooner had singer A Pass, real name Alexander Bagonza, surprised fans with his traditional wedding than another topic began dominating social media—whether he and his wife, Alicia, are expecting their first child together.

Photos and videos from the intimate ceremony, held on Saturday, quickly made the rounds online, but it was Alicia’s appearance that caught the attention of eagle-eyed netizens. Many pointed to what they believe is a visible baby bump, fuelling widespread speculation that the newlyweds could be preparing to welcome a baby.

The observation has since triggered a wave of congratulatory messages across social media, with fans celebrating what they believe could be another milestone for the couple.

Neither A Pass nor Alicia has addressed the pregnancy rumours or confirmed whether they are expecting.

The singer’s traditional wedding itself came as a surprise to many fans, as the couple had largely kept their relationship away from the public eye. Now, with speculation surrounding a possible pregnancy gathering momentum, the celebrations appear to have taken on an entirely new dimension.

For now, however, the pregnancy reports remain unconfirmed, with fans waiting to hear from the couple themselves.

  • HIGHWAY OF DEATH! 14 MASSACRED as Killer Sand Truck Ploughs Into Taxi on Masaka Highway, Driver Vanishes

HIGHWAY OF DEATH! 14 MASSACRED as Killer Sand Truck Ploughs Into Taxi on Masaka Highway, Driver Vanishes

Fourteen people, including the driver of a commuter taxi, were killed in a head-on collision with a sand-laden truck at Kamuwunga Trading Centre along the Lwera swamp stretch on the Masaka-Kampala Highway in Kalungu District. The fatal crash occurred at about 11:40 p.m. on Monday, according to police.

Police identified the taxi as a white Toyota Hiace registration number UA 662AQ, driven by Ssembatya Abdul Karim, a resident of Masaka City, who died at the scene. The second vehicle involved was a red Sino truck, registration number UBS 040F, whose driver fled the scene and remains on the run.

According to the preliminary police findings, the taxi was travelling from Kampala towards Masaka when it collided head-on with the oncoming truck. Police allege that the truck driver, who was transporting sand, attempted to dodge road humps installed on his lane due to ongoing road construction. In the process, he reportedly swerved onto the opposite lane and crashed into the taxi, which was travelling on its correct side of the road.

The impact caused both vehicles to lock together, and the heavily loaded truck pushed the taxi backwards for about 30 metres from the point of impact. The deceased passengers have been identified as Alice Gracious Alobo, 30, a resident of Opit Town Council in Omoro District; Kizza Moses, 30, of Kyetume in Kyotera District; Joanita Natondwa, 23, of Masaka City; Aidah Namajja, 52, of Masaka City; Lawrence Ssebuuma, 34, of Mabaale-Kifuufu in Kyotera District; Margaret Nabbosa, 36, of Zirobwe Town Council in Luwero District; Veronica Nabbulime; Nabbulime’s juvenile daughter; Kizza Moses, 27; Innocent Irora, 39, a resident of Kyegegwa Town Council and an employee of Coca-Cola Namanve; Police Sergeant Nabukeya, service number 44616, whose duty station had not yet been established; and two unidentified male adults.

Four people survived the crash. They include Edward Kaiga, 22, who was travelling in the Sino truck, two unidentified male occupants of the taxi, and another unidentified male who was aboard the truck. The injured were rushed to Masaka Regional Referral Hospital by a Red Cross ambulance, while the bodies of the deceased were taken to the hospital mortuary.

Traffic officers from Masaka East, the Kalungu District Police Commander and other police personnel visited the scene, documented evidence and towed both vehicles to the Lukaya Police Yard pending inspection by the Inspector of Vehicles. Police have opened investigations and launched a manhunt for the truck driver, who remains at large. The suspected cause of the crash is reckless driving by the driver of the Sino truck, police said.

Tooro Kingdom Confirms King Oyo Is Abroad Pursuing Further Studies

The Tooro Kingdom has confirmed that Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV is currently abroad for official engagements and to further his studies, moving to reassure the public after false and misleading reports about his health began circulating.

In a statement issued on 3rd August 2026 from Fort Portal, the Kingdom said it wished to reassure all its people that His Majesty is in good health, directly addressing the rumours that had been making rounds about his wellbeing.

The statement, signed off with “Omukama Ahangirize,” described the circulating reports as false and misleading, and called on the people of Tooro and friends of the Kingdom to reject malicious rumours and defamatory misinformation, noting that false information causes unnecessary anxiety and undermines public trust without serving anyone’s interest.

The Kingdom reaffirmed its commitment to keeping the public informed through timely, accurate, and official communication on matters of public interest, and urged everyone to rely only on information released through the Kingdom’s official channels going forward.

King Oyo, who ascended to the Tooro throne as a young child, has continued to pursue his education even while serving as monarch, a path that has periodically taken him abroad for studies alongside his official royal duties. The Kingdom’s latest statement confirms that his current time away from Fort Portal fits that same pattern, official engagements combined with academic pursuits, rather than anything tied to his health.

The Kingdom closed its statement by calling for unity and responsible communication among its people as it continues its development agenda.

  • Little Joe Mpologoma criticizes religious hypocrisy and greed

Little Joe Mpologoma criticizes religious hypocrisy and greed

Renowned media personality Little Joe Mpologoma has shared his perspective on religion and faith, arguing that not everyone who publicly preaches about God genuinely lives by the values they profess.

Speaking about his personal journey, Little Joe revealed that he has explored both Christianity and Islam, experiences he says shaped his understanding of faith and those who lead religious communities.

According to him, he came to realize that some of the people widely regarded as deeply spiritual or devout are, in reality, more interested in making money through religion than nurturing genuine faith.

What I realized about religion is that some people whom many expect to be the holiest or to have the deepest faith in God are not necessarily the most genuine believers. Some simply use religion as a way of making money.

Little Joe Mpologoma also criticized some preachers for using harsh and condemning language, questioning how such behavior aligns with the teachings of the faith they claim to represent.

Sometimes when you listen carefully to people preaching, much of what comes from their mouths is cursing others. If you truly believe in God, why are you constantly cursing people? For many of them, their words are completely different from their actions.

While emphasizing that his views stem from his own experiences and observations, Little Mpologoma called for greater authenticity among religious leaders, suggesting that genuine faith should be reflected not only in sermons but also in everyday conduct.

Sacrifice behind the scenes: How Ghetto Kids reached the World Cup

Triplets Ghetto Kids manager Dauda Kavuma has revealed the remarkable sacrifice made by dancer Wembly Mo to help the group travel to the United States for their FIFA World Cup halftime show performance alongside global music stars Shakira and Burna Boy.

Speaking after the group’s return to Uganda, Kavuma shared that they faced financial challenges despite receiving the prestigious invitation.

Unsure of how they would raise the money needed for air tickets, he turned to Wembly Mo, who responded with an extraordinary act of generosity.

I told him that I had no idea what to do after getting the invitation and he said he didn’t have money but gave me his car to sell it, and he wasn’t even part of us who went.

The manager praised Wembly Mo for his selflessness, saying the dancer has quietly helped many people over the years without receiving the recognition he deserves.

Kavuma said he chose to publicly acknowledge Wembly’s sacrifice, describing it as one of the key reasons the Ghetto Kids were able to seize the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

  • How a group of twenty-somethings made ‘Made in Uganda’ cool again – Sqoop

How a group of twenty-somethings made ‘Made in Uganda’ cool again – Sqoop

Three years ago, Speedball was little more than an ambitious idea shared by a group of teenagers who believed Ugandan fashion deserved to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with global brands.

On Saturday night, that idea looked a lot more like a movement.

At Motiv in Bugolobi, Speedball Summer 2026 brought together designers, models, musicians, photographers, stylists, creatives and fashion enthusiasts for an event that blurred the lines between fashion show, live performance and cultural celebration.

    It wasn’t just another runway.

It was a showcase of what happens when young creatives are given the freedom to experiment.

From the moment guests walked into the venue, it became clear that Speedball had no interest in staging a conventional fashion presentation. Instead of relying solely on music playlists and catwalks, founder David Mulolo partnered with Joshua Waiswa (Josh SB) and the 360 Immersive team to introduce a live orchestra into the heart of the production.

    The decision transformed the evening.

As models glided down the runway, orchestral arrangements created moments of suspense, excitement and emotion. One minute the atmosphere felt cinematic, almost like the soundtrack to a James Bond film. The next, the orchestra seamlessly transitioned into Kanye West and Jay-Z’s Niggas in Paris, injecting the finale with an energy that had the audience on its feet.

The music didn’t simply accompany the clothes—it gave them a new identity.

Every outfit felt like part of a story unfolding on stage.

That attention to detail extended beyond the soundtrack. The lighting, choreography, stage design and pacing all reflected a production that felt far more ambitious than audiences have come to expect from many local fashion events.

Yet beneath all the spectacle was a simple message.

Every single garment on the runway had been designed and produced in Uganda using locally sourced materials.

For Mulolo, that matters more than any standing ovation.

“Three years ago, we were 17 and 18-year-olds with an idea. Today, we’re bringing together big crowds and amazing people, and that shows what young people can achieve when they believe in their work and build together,” he said.

“We want ‘Made in Uganda’ to become something people are proud to wear—not because it’s local, but because it’s exceptional.”

That philosophy has become the driving force behind Speedball’s evolution.

Rather than encouraging people to buy local out of patriotism, the brand is making a case for Ugandan fashion based on quality, creativity and craftsmanship.

The latest collection reflected that ambition.

Oversized jackets, relaxed denim, distressed fabrics, leather detailing and layered accessories dominated the runway, creating a streetwear aesthetic that felt contemporary without losing its local identity. The pieces balanced bold design with everyday practicality, proving they belonged just as comfortably on Kampala’s streets as they did on the catwalk.

One of the evening’s most engaging moments came courtesy of Guinness Smooth’s “Make It Yours” activation.

Instead of admiring the clothes from a distance, audience members were invited to become part of the creative process by reimagining garments straight from the runway.

    Some customised colours.

Others distressed fabrics or altered silhouettes.

A single design quickly evolved into several completely different interpretations, reinforcing the idea that creativity is collaborative rather than fixed.

“Through our Make It Yours campaign, Guinness Smooth is committed to supporting spaces where individuality, collaboration and original ideas can thrive,” said Denise Paula Nazzinda, Brand Manager for Guinness Smooth.

“What we witnessed at Motiv was more than a fashion show. It was young people taking ownership of their stories, their style and their creative potential.”

    The entertainment extended beyond fashion.

A halftime performance featuring Tracy Noel, Julius Ssese and the orchestra blended classics such as Rihanna’s Rude Boy and Ne-Yo’s Miss Independent with newer hits including Ayra Starr’s Who’s That Girl, creating a musical experience that appealed across generations.

The orchestra itself became one of the night’s biggest stars, seamlessly moving between genres while amplifying every moment on the runway.

What made Speedball Summer memorable, however, wasn’t simply the production value.

It was the sense of possibility.

The event showcased what can happen when fashion designers collaborate with musicians, visual artists, production teams and corporate partners instead of working in isolation.

It painted a picture of a creative industry where disciplines intersect, audiences participate and young talent is encouraged to dream beyond traditional boundaries.

Looking ahead, Mulolo says Speedball’s ambitions stretch far beyond organising annual fashion shows.

His vision includes expanding production capacity, creating opportunities for more young designers and building a creative ecosystem capable of competing on the global stage.

“Every garment you saw was created by a small team,” he said. “Imagine what we can achieve with an entire community of skilled young creatives.”

That vision will undoubtedly require investment, infrastructure and long-term support.

But after witnessing what unfolded at Motiv on Saturday night, one thing is already evident.

Uganda’s next generation of creatives no longer needs convincing that their work belongs on bigger stages.

    They already believe it.

And perhaps that’s the biggest statement Speedball Summer made—not through the clothes, but through the confidence stitched into every collection.

Jude Okoye Denies Mr. P’s Royalty Diversion Allegations

Jude Okoye has responded to allegations made by his younger brother, Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr. P, that he diverted more than $1.2 million in royalties, insisting he handled all financial matters transparently.

The former P-Square manager said every royalty payment complied with existing agreements and rejected claims of financial misconduct.
