Many Ugandan partygoers were left disappointed after South African headlining artiste Scott Maphuma failed to perform at the highly anticipated Linus Tattoo Party on Friday night at Millennium Park, Lugogo, Kampala.
According to video clips circulating online, event organizers confronted the singer’s manager at the venue and reportedly had him arrested while demanding a refund for the performance fee they had already paid.
Revelers who had flocked to Millennium Park expecting an energetic performance from the South African sensation refused to leave the venue, insisting that the “Gone Konje” hitmaker appear on stage as scheduled.
The situation later turned chaotic as frustrated fans became unruly, with some throwing plastic bottles and chairs toward the stage while accusing the organizers of misleading them.
Following several phone calls, the manager reportedly agreed to refund half of the payment.
He was later taken by police and issued an apology over the inconvenience caused to both organizers and fans.
