The Ugandan entertainment industry is rallying together following the heartbreaking death of actress Sally Elizabeth Bwamimpeke, whose passing in Canada has left friends, fans, and fellow creatives mourning a talent many believed still had so much more to offer.
As tributes continue to pour in across social media, family members and close friends have now launched a fundraising campaign aimed at raising $30,000 to facilitate the repatriation of her body back to Uganda and support funeral arrangements.

According to organizers, Ugandan communities both in Canada and back home have already joined hands to ensure the actress receives a dignified send-off worthy of the impact she made on screen and within the creative industry.
“We appreciate everyone who has shared condolence messages since the news about Sally Elizabeth Bwamimpeke’s death came.” Fundraising to bring our dear Sally back home from Canada, where she passed on, is ongoing. We need $30,000, and friends and communities in both Canada and Uganda are working together to make this happen,” part of the statement read.
The campaign has since sparked an emotional wave of support from fans and members of the film fraternity, many remembering Sally not just for her talent, but also for her warmth, humility, and dedication to her craft.
Sally became a household name through her role as Jasmine in the popular Ugandan television drama Prestige, where her performances earned her admiration from audiences and cemented her place among Uganda’s promising screen talents. Her presence on the show made her one of the memorable faces viewers looked forward to seeing every week.
