By sunset on Saturday, the grounds at Lugogo Cricket Oval were already buzzing.
Groups of friends streamed through the gates in jerseys, caps, sneakers and oversized shades, phones in hand and lyrics ready. Some came for the nostalgia. Others came for the bars. But most arrived for one reason: to celebrate a decade of one of Uganda’s most recognisable voices in Luga flow.
This was Hip Hop Ku Ntiko, a concert marking ten years of Fefe Bussi’s lyrical journey, and by the time darkness settled over Lugogo, it had transformed into something bigger than a concert.
It felt like a cultural moment.
Powering the celebration was Bond 7, whose presence flowed naturally through the night as fans toasted to Fefe Bussi’s milestone. Positioned around a shared love for music and connection, the whisky brand leaned into the spirit of the concert, reinforcing the bond between fans, culture and celebration.
For years, Fefe Bussi has occupied a unique place in Uganda’s music landscape, blending street language, storytelling and hip-hop swagger into a sound many young Ugandans proudly call their own. Luga flow has long belonged to the streets, the taxis, the headphones of campus students, the neighbourhood debates about who spits harder.
Saturday night gave that culture a stage.

Thousands filled the Oval, turning the space into a loud, restless sea of anticipation as DJs moved between hits and emcees kept the crowd warm. Everywhere, conversations bounced between favourite verses, old memories and predictions of what Fefe might perform first.

At one point, the energy shifted into overdrive during what organisers dubbed Bondo O’clock. With DJ Nimrod commanding the stage, the crowd erupted as exclusive giveaways and complimentary Bond 7 shots made their way through the audience, turning the moment into an impromptu toast to ten years of Fefe Bussi’s lyrical journey.
Before the headline act appeared, the stage belonged to a lineup of performers who helped gradually raise the temperature.

When Navio finally introduced Fefe Bussi, the response was immediate.

Fireworks lit up the night sky as Fefe stormed onto the stage, opening with Yes No, one of the records that helped cement his place in Uganda’s hip-hop conversation. Fans screamed every lyric back at him word for word, transforming the performance into something deeply communal.
For a moment, Lugogo felt less like a concert venue and more like one giant rap cypher.
Fefe moved through his catalogue with confidence, switching effortlessly between fan favourites, freestyles and unreleased material. At times, he improvised verses. At others, he paused to absorb the deafening energy bouncing back from the audience.
Multiple outfit changes kept the visuals fresh, while moments of raw spontaneity reminded fans why he remains one of the country’s most respected lyricists.
Elsewhere, the night leaned into celebration.
Rap battles briefly shifted attention toward emerging talent as fans competed for prizes, while impromptu moments of excitement kept the audience fully locked in.
Then came one of the night’s biggest surprises.
As the concert approached its climax, Ugandan hip-hop pioneer GNL Zamba appeared unexpectedly on stage, triggering another roar from the crowd.
The moment felt symbolic.
One generation of Luga flow standing beside another.
Legacy meeting momentum.
Beyond the music, the night also reflected something deeper about Uganda’s changing concert culture, where fans increasingly seek experiences that feel immersive, nostalgic and community-driven.
And for one night at Lugogo, that feeling was impossible to miss.
The bars were loud. The energy relentless. The connection unmistakable.
Ten years later, Fefe Bussi’s journey was no longer just his own.
It belonged to the thousands who showed up to celebrate every verse along the way.
