Stand-up comedian Reign Omusoyisoyi’s father has opened up about his son’s upbringing, from his toddler years to becoming a pillar in supporting the family through responsibilities such as paying school fees.
He described Reign as a sharp, clever, and crafty boy from an early age, noting that he always had a natural sense of humor and would constantly make his friends laugh.

From his childhood, Reign was a clever and crafty boy. He was funny right from his early years. Growing up, I wished him to become a teacher, and when he matured, he went to college and completed his studies.
Reign’s father further revealed that from the day he learned his son had ventured into comedy, he fully supported the idea because he, too, was once talented in drama and acting during his school days.
All this comedy he is doing, I loved it from the beginning. I also had the talent, and I was creative during my era while in primary and secondary school.
He recalled discovering Reign’s passion for drama during a visitation day at Kinaawa Secondary School, where he watched him perform in a comedy-drama play.
“One time when I visited him on visitation day at Kinaawa Secondary School, they performed a comedy drama play and I saw him acting. Later when we talked, he told me he had connected with the late Hon. Kato Lubwama and had officially joined his group. I was very happy for him.”
Reign’s father also praised his son for transforming the family’s life, saying the comedian has become a dependable supporter at home.
“I have gained a lot from Reign. First of all, he has made me popular. He supports the family and pays school fees for his siblings. Reign also married a long time ago, although his ceremonies happened during the Covid-19 period.”
