What initially appeared to be a goodwill gesture from singer Jose Chameleone toward fellow artist King Saha has taken an unexpected turn, after Saha publicly distanced himself from any plans to stage a concert on the date recently vacated by the Leone Island boss.
Chameleone, born Joseph Mayanja, recently made headlines after issuing a letter announcing that he had voluntarily released his booking of Lugogo Cricket Oval Stadium for December 4, 2026, a venue reportedly secured and fully paid for his much-anticipated “Chameleone Unlimited” concert.
In the letter, issued under the banner of Leone Island Music Empire and addressed to Kings Love Entertainment, a company associated with King Saha, Chameleone said the move was made “in the interest of the entertainment industry.”
He further authorised Lugogo Cricket Oval management to transfer the booking to Saha’s camp, a gesture many interpreted as an effort to avoid a potential clash between two of Uganda’s biggest music stars while promoting unity within the entertainment industry.

However, King Saha has now made it clear that he neither requested nor intends to take over the date.
In a statement titled “Clarification Regarding 4th December 2026 Event Dates,” Saha said he had taken note of Chameleone’s communication but emphasised that he has no plans whatsoever to organise a concert on the same day.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I wish to state that I have no intention whatsoever of organising or holding a concert on the same date, 4th December 2026, in competition with or alongside Jose Chameleone’s event,” Saha stated.

The singer stressed that his respect for fellow artists, promoters, and entertainment stakeholders remains unchanged, adding that any future concert plans from his camp would be pursued independently and in a manner that encourages harmony rather than rivalry.
The response effectively declines what many had viewed as an olive branch from Chameleone.
While the Leone Island boss appeared to be creating room for Saha to occupy one of the most sought-after dates on Uganda’s entertainment calendar, the Zakayo singer has instead publicly stepped away from the conversation altogether.
The latest exchange once again places the spotlight on the complex relationship between the two artists, whose careers have often crossed paths amid mentorship, admiration, competition, and occasional public disagreements.
For now, one thing remains certain: December 4 currently has no King Saha concert attached to it, despite Chameleone’s decision to vacate the date.
Whether Chameleone will eventually announce a new date for “Chameleone Unlimited”, or if another promoter ultimately claims the Cricket Oval booking, remains to be seen.
