Singer Diana Nalubega has dismissed long-standing rumors that linked her frequent trips to Turkey to prostitution, insisting that her travels were solely for legitimate business purposes.
The “Kabiite” singer explained that she regularly traveled to Turkey to purchase clothing for her boutique business based in Kabalagala, Kampala.
According to her, the trips were strictly work-related and had nothing to do with the allegations that have circulated over the years.
Nalubega revealed that she has since reduced the number of trips she makes to Turkey, noting that the frequent travel often left her feeling anxious.
She added that she now has someone who helps manage the business, allowing her to travel only when necessary.
Addressing the claims, the singer firmly maintained that her record is clean and that she has never engaged in prostitution.
I don’t think that’s true. There are critics who claim that artists practice prostitution, but I don’t. I know myself. My trips to Turkey were strictly business-oriented. I used to travel there to buy clothes for my boutique in Kabalagala, Kampala.
Nowadays, I don’t travel as much because I have someone who handles most of the business. I only travel once in a while.
Nalubega also disclosed that she recently earned money from her music after a group of foreigners acquired rights to use her hit song Kisumuluzo in an upcoming film project.
Although she described the payment as modest, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity, saying it demonstrates that she still earns from her music career despite not releasing many new projects lately.
Recently, some foreigners paid me to use my Kisumuluzo soundtrack in a project. It wasn’t a huge amount of money, but everything was finalized and I got paid. They will use it in a movie/ documentary that will be released soon.
That shows I can still survive on my music even though I haven’t released many new songs recently.
