Months after publicly announcing plans to formalise his relationship, dancehall singer Yung Mulo has taken another significant step towards marriage.
The singer, whose real name is Kasim Lubega, and his fiancée, Brenda Kahima, held a private Kukyala ceremony on Saturday, June 6, 2026, as part of preparations for their upcoming traditional introduction.
The couple visited Brenda’s aunt (Ssenga) in a low-key gathering attended by close family members and friends. During the visit, discussions were held and customary items presented in accordance with Buganda marriage traditions.
The ceremony comes weeks after Yung Mulo revealed his intention to officially begin the marriage process through the “Okugamba Obugyenyi” ceremony.
In May, the singer openly shared his plans with fans and launched an appeal to friends and well-wishers to support him as he prepared for the next chapter of his life.
Saturday’s gathering represents another milestone for the couple and brings them one step closer to their official introduction ceremony, which is expected to take place in Buwaate.
Known for his dancehall music and energetic performances, Yung Mulo now joins a growing list of Ugandan entertainers choosing to publicly embrace traditional marriage customs.
