Ugandan dancehall singer Yung Mulo, born Kassim Lubega, has officially taken a major step in his relationship journey after visiting the family of his fiancée, Brenda Kahima, in a traditional introduction ceremony held on Friday, June 20.
For the singer, the occasion marked the fulfilment of a dream he had openly shared with fans months ago.
In May, Yung Mulo publicly revealed his desire to formalise his relationship and appealed to friends, fans, and well-wishers for support to make the ceremony possible. The appeal quickly resonated with supporters, who rallied behind him through online and offline fundraising efforts.
Much of the support came through TikTok live sessions, where fans contributed generously, turning the singer’s personal wish into a community-driven celebration.
The journey to the introduction ceremony began earlier this month when Yung Mulo paid a visit to his fiancée’s aunt, popularly known as the Ssenga in Buganda culture, to initiate discussions and preparations for the official family meeting.
On Friday, the “Pressure Ya Love” singer finally visited Brenda’s parents at their home in Buwaate, formally declaring his intentions before the family.
The colourful ceremony attracted several notable figures from the entertainment and political spheres. Among those who accompanied the singer were fellow musicians Roden Y Kabako and Feffe Bussi, as well as a number of National Unity Platform politicians and supporters.
The milestone comes after months of anticipation from fans who had closely followed Yung Mulo’s preparations and fundraising efforts.
With the introduction ceremony now complete, attention is expected to shift to the couple’s next chapter as they continue their journey toward marriage.
