The countdown to Comedy Festival 2026 is officially on.
Ugandan comedians gathered at UMA Show Grounds in Lugogo on Tuesday and used the occasion to send a clear message to fans: July 4 belongs to comedy.

The highly anticipated event, organised by Abtex Promotions, will bring together performers from across the country for what comedians hope will be one of the year’s biggest comedy showcases.
Amooti Omubalanguzi believes the festival offers something audiences rarely get to see.
It is time to see real talents in one place.
Beyond the laughs, comedians say the festival represents the continued rise of Uganda’s comedy industry, which has produced some of the country’s most popular entertainers.
They also credited Abtex Promotions for backing comedy and creating platforms that allow performers to reach larger audiences.

With the show just days away, comedians say they are ready.
The only thing left is for fans to fill the venue and join the celebration.
