Mesach Semakula remains unbothered by criticism of his latest song, Africa, insisting the backlash will not last.
The veteran musician says he has seen the same pattern throughout his career, with many of his songs facing criticism before eventually becoming fan favourites.
He believes Africa will follow the same path because he understands the audience he has built over the years.
In his view, many of those criticizing the song today will eventually embrace it, just as they have with several of his previous releases.
He also has little interest in winning over every listener. Instead, he encouraged anyone who does not enjoy Africa to simply choose other music, stressing that nobody is under any obligation to listen to the song.
For now, Mesach Semakula says he is happy to let time deliver the verdict on Africa.
